PM73845: ICE046A SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED DUE TO VERY SMALL ESTIMATED FILE SIZE 1000

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The value 1000 is used (FILSZ=E1000) instead of the actual
  estimated value when the estimated size is greater than the
  maximum value of an integer (i.e. 2147483647).
  
   This can lead to problems related to allocation for files
    created by the DB2 HPU such as :
     - x37 ABENDs on temporary or output files
       (files allocated via TEMPLATE in InfoUnload/DB2 HPU)
     - Sort failures such as ICE046A 0 SORT CAPACITY EXCEEDED -
       RECORD COUNT 13507934.

Local fix

• Consider setting RTSESTIM to YES or
  add the MAX_EXPECTED_ROWS option to set the FILSZ parameter to
  be used to invoke the SORT program.
