APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' Batch Restart program
ADBTEP2 gives different messages after a successful action
depending on the case of the DDL.

For example an UPDATE >schema<.>table< SET COL1 = 1 will show
    SUCCESSFUL UPDATE OF n ROW(S)
while an Update >schema<.>table< SET COL1 = 1 will show
    ADB5180I SUCCESSFUL

Local fix

  • Use upper case syntax to see the 'SUCCESSFUL >action< OF n ROW(S
) message and lower case syntax to see the 'ADB5180I SUCCESSFUL'
    message.
