Problem

when trying to access Cognos Analytics via single sign on (sso) (R5 at time of writing), user receives an error _NOT_TRANSLATED_(error404NotFound) User Profile Service: getv1/login

Cause

the isapi handler mapping is not set up correctly

Diagnosing The Problem

_NOT_TRANSLATED_(error404NotFound) User Profile Service: getv1/login error when trying to access Cognos via SSO

Resolving The Problem

1. . Launch Internet Information Services Manager (IIS)
2. Expand the server name.
3. Expand Sites
4. Expand Default Website
5. Expand the alias being used
6. Click SSO
7. Double click Handler Mappings
8. Double click Cognos SSO
9. Click Request Restrictions
10. Ensure under mappings that "invoke handler only if request is mapped to" is unchecked
11. Ensure under the Access tab that the specify the access required by the handler is set to "script"
