The IBM Cognos TM1 service is not created after running the Planning Analytics Local TM1 Installation

Troubleshooting


Problem

After installing the TM1 Application Server / TM1 Web components, the 'IBM Cognos TM1' service does not appear under the 'IBM Cognos TM1 Services' list within Cognos Configuration.

Cause

The server in which you are installing the TM1 Application Server / TM1 Web components, has a JAVA_HOME environment variable already set. This conflicts with the TM1 installation, as we require use of the built in JRE on Windows.

Resolving The Problem

Remove the JAVA_HOME environment variable in your environment and re-launch Cognos Configuration.

***Some customers have reported that the removal of JAVA_HOME environment variable did not take effect until the machine had been rebooted. If you encounter the same issue after removing your JAVA_HOME, retry after a reboot of your machine.
