We would like to save contact details of users and groups for distribution purposes. What is the method for creating a contact in Cognos Analytics 11?

Steps to create a contact

1. On the ‘Welcome’ dashboard in Cognos Analytics 11, select the ‘Manage’ tab.

2. Click ‘Administration Console’ to open IBM Cognos Administration.

3. Select the ‘Configuration’ tab and click the ‘Distribution Lists and Contacts’ tab.

4. Click on the ‘Cognos’ namespace.

5. In the top right-hand side, select ‘New Contact’.

6. Enter a name for the new contact and assign an email address to it before clicking ‘Finish’.

Steps to create a distribution list

1. On the ‘Welcome’ dashboard in Cognos Analytics 11, select the ‘Manage’ tab.

2. Click ‘Administration Console’ to open IBM Cognos Administration.

3. Select the ‘Configuration’ tab and click the ‘Distribution Lists and Contacts’ tab.

4. Click on the ‘Cognos’ namespace.

5. In the top right-hand side, select ‘New Distribution List’.

6. Enter a name for the new list and assign it an email address or active directory group before clicking ‘Finish’.
