My GUI user's password expire every day.

Question & Answer

Question

Why does my GUI user's password expire every day. My GUI user's password expires, and I put in a new password, it takes the new password ok, but then the next day it expires again.

Answer

Your Guardium system most likely got a Central Manager(CM), and managed units. GUI users need to be changed, including setting new passwords, on the Central manager.

Please try this: Today before you go home. Login to the CM, and set a new password. Tomorrow the new password should work on all the managed units also.

If today you will not be asked for a new password, then instead tomorrow morning do this: Login to the CM and set the new password. After that wait 2 hours, and then login. Why should you wait 2 hours? It's because once every hour the CM will send the new password to the managed units and once every hour the managed unit will read the new passwords. So the process could take a few minutes, or up to 2 hours, on average around 1 hour.
