Error description
SuSE 11 SP1 view extended access to non-ClearCase related mount points prevent their unmounting after the fact ClearCase 7.1.1.x and 7.1.2.x SuSE 11 SP1 To Reproduce: 1) Make a View (can be locally stored or NAS) 2) cleartool startview ?tag? 3) /harddisk is a mount point to /dev/sdb1 NOTE: /dev/sdb1 is a secondary hard drive added to the system to create a mount point /harddisk NOTE: /dev/sdb1 is an EXT3 filesystem 4) cp /etc/* /harddisk/ 5) find /view/?tag?/harddisk -name *.conf 6) umount /harddisk umount: /harddisk: device is busy (In some cases useful info about processes that use the device is found by loaf(8) or fuser(1)) 7) Stop ClearCase and verify mvfs has been removed from the kernel /usr/atria/etc/clearcase stop lsmod | grep mvfs The lsmod lists no mvfs module in the kernel 8) umount /harddisk umount: /harddisk: device is busy (In some cases useful info about processes that use the device is found by loaf(8) or fuser(1)) 9) Reboot the system: You can now unmount /harddisk Workaround: Do not access non-ClearCase filesystems from within a view extended path

Problem conclusion
This problem is fixed in 7.1.2.09 and 8.0.0.05.
