Question
How do I create an alert if a primary S-TAP host becomes inactive and the S-TAP failovers to a secondary host?
Answer
A correlation alert can be created for S-TAP failovers. Create the alert as in the screenshot below:
- Give the Alert a Name and Description
- Set Run Frequency, Accumulation Interval and Notification Frequency as required
- Set Threshold as 1
- Add receiver/s
- For Query, chose 'S-TAP Events' from the drop down list. The Query Parameters as follows:
- tapMessageLike String: Connected to Seconday Server% * 'Seconday' is how it should be spelt in alert definition due to typo in the reports.
- EventTypeLike String: %
- HostLike String: %
