**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of HPFPU Fast Path Advanced Tool * * in Fast Path Solution Pack Version 1 Release * * 2 (FMID: HAHQ120) with IMS Version 12. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR allows the following * * functions to support multi-volume * * allocation for the stripe files in the * * SMS environment: * * - FPA INDEXBLD function * * - FPA ANALYZE function for FPSI * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** FPA INDEXBLD function and FPA ANALYZE function for FPSI have been enhanced to support multi-volume allocation for the stripe files in the SMS environment. When FPA dynamically allocates the stripe files, FPA internally sets 10 to volume count. This enhancement is being implemented as a result of FITS requirement MR1115115316.

======================== = DOCUMENTATION CHANGE = ======================== The IMS Fast Path Solution Pack for z/OS Version 1 Release 2 IMS High Performance Fast Path Utilities User's Guide (SC19-3287-00). 2.7 Analyzing a DEDB offline with FPA 2.7.5 DD statements for the Analyze process S0nnnnn0 DD is added to Table 31. DD statements for the Analyze process as follows: S0nnnnn0 | Input and Output | Yes | Optional | The description of S0nnnnn0 DD is added to Input/Output DD statements as follows: | S0nnnnn0 DD | These DD statements are optional DD statements that define the | stripe files. The stripe files are intermediate work data sets | for storing pointer segments until the segments are loaded to | the secondary index databases. nnnnn is the secondary index | database number that FPA determines internally. The value can | be in the range of 00001 - 25755. | The size of the data set is the length of the pointer segment | multiplied by the number of the pointer segments. | This DD statement used for Secondary index database integrity | verification. | Note on dynamic allocation: | If this statement is not specified in the JCL statement when | these data sets are necessary, FPA allocates them dynamically. 2.10 Building secondary index databases for a DEDB offline with FPA 2.10.5 DD statements for the Build Index process The description of S0nnnnn0 DD is changed as follows: S0nnnnn0 DD | These DD statements are optional DD statements that define the | stripe files. The stripe files are intermediate work data sets for storing pointer segments until the segments are loaded to the secondary index databases. nnnnn is the secondary index database number that FPA determines internally. The value can be in the range of 00001 - 25755. The size of the data set is the length of the pointer segment multiplied by the number of the pointer segments. Note on dynamic allocation: If this statement is not specified in the JCL statement when these data sets are necessary, FPA allocates them dynamically.
