How to delete an STAP from the S-TAP Control list on a collector

Question & Answer

Question

This article explains how you can remove an Inactive/Red STAP from the list in S-TAP Control on a collector.

Cause

You may want to delete an Inactive STAP from S-TAP Control on a collector if the STAP is not pointing any longer to the collector. This may happen for example if the STAP is no longer active (if it was decommissioned), or if it was moved to point to another collector

Answer

To remove an Inactive STAP from the S-TAP Control list on a collector:

1.- Navigate to S-TAP Control:

Guardium versions 8.x and 9.x: Administration Console > Local Taps > S-TAP Control

Guardium version 10.x: Manage > Activity Monitoring > S-TAP Control

2.- Verify the STAP is Inactive. It must show with Status as a red dot as circled in blue in image below.

If the STAP is not red, you can not delete it. You can only delete an STAP that is Inactive/Red.

3.- Click on the red x (circled in blue below) to delete the STAP. Answer OK (circled in red below) to the question "Are you sure you want to delete this STAP?"

4.- Confirm the STAP was deleted from the S-TAP Control list
