Error description
Modifying the mvfs_ctxt_atime_refresh within mvfs_tunables.c and rebuilding the MVFS will not change the 3600 second value ClearCase 7.1.2.4, 7.1.2.x RedHat 5 Update 3 and above 2.6.18-128 SMP x86_64 2.6.18-194.11.1 SMP x86_64 To Reproduce: From a VOB server, make a test VOB on Network Attached Storage. Mount the VOB, set to a View and cd into the VOB and make a new element: The element can be an executable script or a C program file and should use any type manager other than whole copy. Once the element has been created, please check in the element. Verify that the checked in element version is within the cleartext pool of the VOB: /usr/atria/etc/mvfsstorage ?element? Now, from a Client system remote to the VOB server and accessing the Network Attached Storage and was not apart of making the element: 1) On a remote client, as root cd into /var/adm/atria/mvfs/mvfs_src 2) make clean 3) vi mvfs_tunables.c 4) Modify the following line: From: int mvfs_ctxt_atime_refresh = 3600; To: int mvfs_ctxt_atime_refresh = 10; 5) make 6) make install 7) /usr/atria/etc/clearcase stop 8) /usr/atria/clearcase start 9) Now, as a non-root user, mount the test VOB and set to a View 10) Issue ?/usr/bin/stat ?element?? and note the values 11) cat the element 12) Issue ?/usr/bin/stat ?element?? and note that the atime changed 13) Wait 2 minutes: Now, cat the element again 14) Issue ?/usr/bin/stat ?element?? and verify that the atime has not changed 15) Now, wait 15, 30, 45 minutes more (15 minute intervals) and cat the element again: ?/usr/bin/stat ?element?? does not show an atime change. 16) After one hour has elapsed, cat the element again. Issue ?/usr/bin/stat ?element?? and now the atime changed Workaround: None
