Logging into a WebSphere Application Server console after the console session expires causes an SESN0008E error

Troubleshooting

Problem

After your administrative console session times out and you log back into the console, an SESN0008E error might be written to the WebSphere Application Server []SystemOut.log[] file. You can ignore the error.

Symptom

An SESN0008E error written to the WebSphere Application Server SystemOut.log file has the following format:

SESN0008E: A user authenticated as anonymous has attempted to access a session owned by user:defaultWIMFileBasedRealm/xxxxxxx

Resolving The Problem

If you no longer want an SESN0008E error written to the WebSphere Application Server SystemOut.log file, you can set the com.ibm.ws.security.web.logoutOnHTTPSessionExpire Java virtual machine (JVM) property to true on a deployment manager or stand-alone server. However, this setting affects all applications running on that server.
