Troubleshooting
Problem
Application tier services failing to start with the following error logged in cognoserver.log file:
Unable to create Hessian JMX connection java.net.MalformedURLException: Bad URL path: _domain.com:9300/p2pd/hessian
Cause
Server name used in Cognos Configuration contained an under score.
For example: http://abc_ibm.com:9300/bi/v1/disp
Resolving The Problem
Using underscores are not legal characters in host names. Substitute the URI's with the IP-addresses or change the domain name not to use '_'.
