IBM Support

Message "User is already logged into IBM Control Center." from SWING Console.

Question & Answer

Question

When logging into the SWING Console seeing the following pop-up message. User "name" is already logged into IBM Control Center. User profile information, e.g. column ordering, column width, etc. will not be saved for this session.

Cause

The JMX connection will not be removed if Swing console is force killed from the PC terminating abnormally or being shut down without exiting the Console.

Answer

The message displayed is harmless. If the customer really needs to save a user's profile information, go to <cc_install>/conf/users/profiles/<username> to edit and save it.

The best solution is not to turn of the PC before closing the console.
Once Control Center is recycled the message will go away.
