WebSphere Application Server: Charts rendered in JPEG report a Batik 1.5 library requirement instead of displaying data

Troubleshooting

Problem

When you set the preferences on the Reports tab for charts to JPEG, instead of displaying a chart, a graphic that states a requirement for Batik 1.5 is displayed.

Environment

Some browsers can have difficulty displaying Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) graphics. If so, the user can change the default from SVG to JPEG charts to get them to display.

Diagnosing The Problem

Resolving The Problem

The default behavior of charting is to render in SVG format. If you leave the default settings, you can avoid the problem. However, if you are charting in a browser, but the SVG format is a problem, you can use another browser that supports SVG graphics.

You can optionally install a fix pack for Version 9 to resolve this issue. Refer to the Recommended Updates page for delivery information: http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27004980
