SDK - Installation Error 'std::out_of_range' with core dump on Linux

Troubleshooting


Problem

Received the following error trying to install the SDK Product in the Server Cognos base directory. Product versions match.

Symptom

[linuxi38664h]$ ./issetup &
[1] 30136
[linuxi38664h]$ terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range' what(): basic_string::at
[1]+ Aborted (core dumped) ./issetup

Cause

Utilizing a NFS Drive to hold the installation media software and executing the installation from the Linux Server gave this error.
Products are not designed to install from a NFS or CIFS mounted drive.

Resolving The Problem

Install the product software always from a local directory on the Linux Server.

An installation media drive mounted to the server via Rock Ridge Extension is supported.

Installs can also be done via X Graphical User Interface, or X session for Linux wtih product files on the Linux Server.

Not supported is an installation process of the Product files via CIFS, or via an NFS mount.
