Large numbers of ORA-00001 errors per second in the IBM Control Center log

Problem

Excessive number of ORA-00001 errors are being written every second to the IBM Control Center log.

Symptom

DEBUG pflexr0 - LogEventToDB() got an error logging the stat record - ORA-00001: unique constraint (SCCUSER.SEQ_NUM_INDEX) violated
ERROR pflexr0 - ORA-00001: unique constraint (SCCUSER.SEQ_NUM_INDEX) violated
java.sql.SQLIntegrityConstraintViolationException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (SCCUSER.SEQ_NUM_INDEX) violated

Cause

This problem has been identified as a product defect under APAR IT14132
These relate to duplicate records being added when the statistics of remote nodes in distant time zones are retrieved.

Diagnosing The Problem

Check for large amounts of errors similar to those described above in the engine log.

Resolving The Problem

Apply fix for APAR IT14132
