Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IBM WebSphere Application * * Server who deploy Blueprint OSGi * * applications that utilise JNDI * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: JNDI lookup errors occur in blueprint * * applications * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During JNDI lookup operations from OSGi applications, the OSGi bundle context information is necessary to correctly perform the lookup. APARs PM76868 and PM75089 altered how this bundle context was stored. For blueprint applications, these changes prevented the bundle context from being present, and so JNDI lookups failed.
Problem conclusion
The bundle context is now stored when required for JNDI lookups, but is also removed to satisfy the requirements of PM76868 and PM75089. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix packs 8.0.0.8 and 8.5.5.1.
