Demand quantity for Inventory not visible on Application Console

Question & Answer

Question

Why are the demands not visible in the Inventory Console ?

Answer

When you navigate to the Inventory console for an Item and click on the Demand quantity, the pop-up search window does not return any result even though demand for the item exists.
This is due to the 'Create Demand Details' flag being unchecked in the Applications Manager.
Follow the below steps to check the flag:
1. Go to Global Inventory Visibility
2. Inventory Rules -> Other Rules tab
3. Check the "Create Demand Details" flag ->Save

Create an order for the item and move it to the appropriate status.
Go to the inventory console and click on the demand. You will be able to view the demand list now.

Here is the documentation link which explains the flag in detail:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SS6PEW_9.3.0/com.ibm.help.giv.config.doc/t_DefiningAdditionalInventoryRules.html

Checking the flag will insert records in the YFS_INVENTORY_DEMAND_DTLS table.
The YFS_INVTDMDDTL_VW (view created from YFS_DEMAND and YFS_INVENTORY_DEMAND_DTLS) populates the demand list in the Inventory console.

Note: The demand details will be shown only for the newly created orders after the flag is checked.
