Problem
When deploying Maximo web services or generating schemas, the error BMXAA5798E is displayed
Symptom
When deploying Maximo web services, the following error dialog box is displayed:
BMXAA5798E - The integration web application URL http://host.company.com/meaweb/ is not valid. The web application URL that is specified in the mxe.int.webappurl property cannot be pinged. Modify the mxe.int.webappurl property to the correct value for the deployment
Cause
There are many causes for this particular error message to appear, however it is most often seen when using a load balancer and pointing the system property mxe.int.webappurl to its host and port where the host is not reachable using icmp ping, or when securing an application server using digital certificates that are not provided by well-known certificate authorities and are therefore not trusted by all clients.
Resolving The Problem
This problem can be resolved by modifying the Maximo system property mxe.int.verifywebappurl and setting its value to 0. This will prevent the verification of the host specified in the mxe.int.webappurl system property, allowing successful web service deployment as well as schema generation.
