Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS GEN / DDL / MIG function
    created DDL with TIMESTAMP(0) rather than TIMESTAMP or
    TIMESTAMP(6) data-type when using GEN / DDL / MIG on an
    non-SQL external SP ( Stored Procedure ) in DB2 v10 environment.

    * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the DB2 Administration Tool for *
    * z/OS who use the Generate (GEN) or DDL *
    * functions that generate DDL for DB2 10 for *
    *                 Functions, Procedures, or User-defined data  *
    * types that were created prior to DB2 10, *
    * and the object(s) uses the TIMESTAMP data *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Prior to DB2 10 New Function Mode *
    *                      (NFM), DB2 stored in the DB2 catalog    *
    *                      a length of 10 and scale of 0 for a     *
    *                      TIMESTAMP data type.  In DB2 10 NFM,    *
    * DB2 considers these values from prior *
    * releases to actually be a TIMESTAMP *
    * with scale of 6. The DB2 Admin Tool *
    * GEN and DDL functions generated DDL *
    * for DB2 10 as if the TIMESTAMP data *
    * type had a scale of 0. The correct *
    *                      TIMESTAMP scale is 6.                   *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When generating DDL for DB2 10 for a function or procedure that
    was created prior to DB2 10, the DDL produced has TIMESTAMP(0)
    instead of TIMESTAMP(6).
