  • The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS' ALT function createdan
    APPLY job which containing a DROP TABLE statement which fails
    with a SQLCODE -669 / SQLCODEN669:

    DROPPED.

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When altering a table which has a MQT   *

    *                      partitioned table space or a PBG table  *
    *                      space, the table needs to be dropped    *
    *                      and recreated.  When the DROP statement *
    *                      is executed, the APPLY job fails with   *
    *                      a SQLCODE= -669 / SQLCODEN669:          *

    When altering a table which has a MQT defined on it and the
    MQT resides in a partitioned table space or a PBG table space,
    the table needs to be dropped and recreated.  When the DROP
    statement is executed, the APPLY job fails with a
    SQLCODE=-669 / SQLCODEN669.
