Question & Answer
Question
How do I add the instance back in if I accidently deleted it with the "db2iset -d" command?
Cause
If you have issued "db2iset -d" on the incorrect instance, you will need to add the instance back.
Answer
Issue this command from the instance installation directory:
./db2iset -a <instance name>
Example:
/opt/IBM/db2/V9.7/instance/ ./db2iset -a db2inst1
If you receive an error thereafter that the instance still doesn't exist, do this:
- Rename the instance's sqllib directory to sqllib.old.
- Recreate the instance with "db2icrt".
- Re-catalog the databases.
