Error description
When one tries to add Chinese or Japanese character to the rule text in the web intellirule editor , the cursor will always move to first position of line 1 after a character is selected from the IME and this character also replaced "definitions" keyword in the rule. Every attempt in entering the characters results in same problem. The problem persists in using Internet Explorer 8 and 9 When entering Japanese words, a rule statement will also break into two lines due to the usage of "Enter" key for validation.
Local fix
Workaround(s): - use firefox browser (works for Chinese IME, does not work for Japanese IME) - If using Enterprise Console, switch to edit business rules using Guided Editor.
Problem summary
IME has a behavior unexpected with IE
Problem conclusion
A solution has been implemented for IE9 and IE10. The limitation remains with IE8.
