Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of IPR Driver of IMS Parallel *
    *                 Reorganization for z/OS Version 2 Release 1  *
    *                 (FMID=H25N210).                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: IPR Driver does not use the shadow ILDS *
    * of a PHDAM partition even if an ILDS *
    * exists. The message "*** OUTPUT ILDS IS *
    * NOT USED ***" is printed on the ILDS *
    * row in the Data Set Information report. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
IPR Driver does not use the shadow ILDS of a PHDAM partition
even if an ILDS exists. The message "*** OUTPUT ILDS IS NOT
USED ***" is printed on the ILDS row in the Data Set Information
    report.

Problem conclusion

  • IPR Driver has been modified so that it will always initialize
the shadow ILDS and, if NAMESWAP=YES, does name swapping
between the original ILDS and the shadow ILDS if one of the
following conditions is satisfied and ILDSBLD=YES is specified:
    1. The shadow ILDS of all partitions that are to be reorganized
are specified in the JCL stream.
    2. Dynamic allocation of shadow data sets is designated and all
       shadow ILDS exist.
    *
In order for the above function to work, it is required to
apply to IMS High Performance Load the PTF that is provided by
    APAR PQ83995.

    |
    | HPSG0109E CATALOG SEARCH ERROR: RC=rc MID=xx RSN=yy RETCD=zz
    |
    | Explanation: A call to DFSMS Catalog Search Interface
    | (IGGCSI00) got a non-zero return code. rc indicates a return
    | code of IGGCSI00. When the return code is either 4 or 8,
    | MID=xx, RSN=yy, and RETCD=zz are included in the message,
    | which are the value contained in the reason area of an
    | IGGCSI00 call. Here, xx is the Module ID in character format,
    | yy is the hexadecimal reason code, and zz is the hexadecimal
    | return code. For details of these codes, refer to "z/OS DFSMS
    | Managing Catalogs."
    |
    | System Action: IPR Driver ends with a return code of 8.
    |
    | Programmer Response: Refer to z/OS DFSMS Managing Catalogs
    | for the meaning of the return code and reason area codes.
    | If the problem cannot be resolved, call IBM Support Center.

    |
    | HPSG0388E SHADOW ILDS OF ONE OR MORE PARTITIONS NOT SPECIFIED
    | OR NOT EXIST
    |
    | Explanation: This message is issued in either one of the
    | following cases:
    | 1. Shadow ILDS of one or more partitions are not specified
    | in the JCL stream
    | 2. Shadow ILDS of one or more partitions do not exist.
    |
    | System Action: IPR Driver end a return code of 8.
    |
    | Programmer Response: Create shadow ILDS for each partition
    | to be reorganized. If the dynamic allocation of the shadow
    | data sets is not requested, you must code the DD statement
    | for shadow ILDS for each partition. If you do not need to
    | create a shadow ILDS because no ILE record is written for
    | the database, code ILDSBLD=NO control statement or delete
    | all shadow ILDS that exist.
