Troubleshooting
Problem
When connecting to a HIVE datasource, Framework Manager gives an error message. The datasource connection in Cognos Administration tests successfully.
Symptom
The following is displayed:
"XQE-DAT-0001 Data source adapter error: java.sql.SQLException: Error while processing statement: FAILED: Execution Error, return code 1 from org.apache.hadoop.hive.ql.exec.mr.MapRedTask - when processing query"
Cause
The user has incorrect permissions to access HIVE.

Apache HIVE 0.12
Diagnosing The Problem
Also applies to data servers and data modules in Cognos 11.x
Resolving The Problem
Alter the users permissions so that they can access HIVE.
Ensure the user has 'yarn' permissions on Hive.

Use a user that already has permissions to access the datasource.
