Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to schedule and release chained PO does not fail with no inventory in IBM Sterling Order Managment.
Symptom
Steps to reproduce:
- Create an item I1 and adjust its inventory at vendor node V1.
- Create a drop ship order for 1 qty of item I1 with ShipNode as the Vendor node V1.
- Schedule the order. Order moves to Awaiting Chained Order Creation status.
- Create chained order for the order created in step 2 above using createChainedOrder API. A chained PO gets created and the order moves to Chained Order Created status.
- Now, adjust the inventory for Item I1 at Vendor node V1 such that there’s no inventory for I1 at V1.
Ensure unplanned inventory is set to N.
- Schedule the chained order created in step 4 above.
Result :
Chained PO schedules and releases successfully.
Expected:
Chained PO should backorder as I1 has no inventory at V1.
Cause
The item configuration is incorrect.
