Error in SQL statement for all reports in Guardium GUI

Troubleshooting

Problem

All predefined and custom reports in the Guardium GUI have a long delay when selecting them. After the delay you see the same error on every page: Error in generating report/monitor: Error in sql statement. There are a lot of interactive reports in the Running Query Monitor.

Symptom

  • On all reports in the GUI, some time clicking you get the error:
  • In the GUI->Guardium Monitor-> Running Query Monitor you see many interactive reports running. Note the difference between interactive reports and Audit processes, both of which appear in the monitor.
      Example of interactive report:

      Example of audit process:

Cause

Interactive reports run on the system have hung and are stopping the internal database from processing any new queries.

Resolving The Problem

1. Note down the name of the interactive reports that are stuck in the running query monitor. The name appears in the "Command" section as per the screen shot above.

2. Kill all interactive reports. You do not need to kill any audit processes.

3. For any report NOT noted in point 1, open it again to confirm it runs.

4. If the problem returns after trying to run reports noted in point 1 again, you should run them in the background. You can schedule to run in an audit process or use the "Ad-hoc process for run once now" feature available in the bar under any report:
