Windows Symlinks Support Statement

Troubleshooting

Problem

The use of Windows Symlinks for UNC paths in WebSphere 8.0 (and higher) is supported.

Environment

The use of Windows Symlinks has now been fully tested throughout the WebSphere system and they are supported.

The symlink must be created by an administrative user.

Only administrative users can use the symlink.

No development was done for this feature. It was purely a testing effort.

No property was added to allow for symlink support, therefore no behavioral change.
This may be something added in the future, however as of now that's not the case.
