Question & Answer
Question
My Guardium appliance database gets filled with SQL errors returned by the database. How do I prevent this from happening? We have installed a selective policy.
Answer
Guardium logs all database exceptions by default. To reduce the exceptions logged:
- Create a group of exceptions that you want to avoid logging
- Add an
EXCEPTIONS
rule to the policy - Add description, Category, Classification abd Severity as needed
- Specify the group name for
Error Code
- Select
SQL_ERROR
forExcpt. Type
- Select SKIP LOGGING as the rule action
- Add additional filters such as
Server IP
etc. as necessary - Restart
inspection engines
