Troubleshooting
Problem
MustGather for problems with the WebSphere® Intelligent Management - Creation / Configuring Dynamic Cluster. Gather this information before calling IBM® support helps familiarize you with the troubleshooting process and saves you time.
Resolving The Problem
Dynamic Clusters creating/configuring specific MustGather information:
1. Provide the following general information:
- Steps to recreate problem
- Screen shot of problem
- Open administrative console
- Select Logging and Tracing > dmgr_name > Diagnostic Trace Service
- In Configuration tab, perform the following tasks:
- Check Enable Log property
- For Trace Output, select File Name and type a file_name
- Set Maximum file size to 50 MB
- Set Maximum number of historical files to 10
- Select Logging and Tracing > dmgr_name > Change Log Detail Levels
- In Configuration tab, enter Trace Specification as below:
com.ibm.ws.console.dynamiccluster.*=all:com.ibm.ws.xd.config.dc.*=all
4. Recreate the problem with tracing enabled
5. Collect the server.xml files for the dynamic cluster members
6. Run the collector tool on dmgr process. When you run the collector tool, it creates a jar file with the information about that profile that it was run against, please send us the jar file that the collector tool created. If there is a message about the collector tool being deprecated you can ignore it, do not run ISADC tool, the collector tool should continue after a pause in the script.
Instructions for running collector.
7. Send the collector output to IBM support. Follow instructions to send diagnostic information to IBM support.
What to do Next?
Once you have collected the MustGather information simply submit the diagnostic information to IBM support.
