Sterling Control Center goes down after 5-10 minutes

Troubleshooting

Problem

Newly installed copy of Sterling Control Center goes down a few minutes after starting.

Symptom

The Engine logs show the following errors, associated with accessing the Staging database:

CJDB032E Error while getting instance of JDBC Staging Service.
CJDB027E Control Center required tables are not up-to-date at the target DB Server.

Cause

Sterling control Center configured to use both a partitioned database and a staging database. Use of a partitioned database obviates the use of a staging database.

Environment

Linux host OS
Oracle Control Center database.

Resolving The Problem

There is no need to configure a staging database when using a partitioned production database.
Install Sterling Control Center using the installer.
During the install, since there is no need for staging database, specify the following for the staging database connection details:

• Database Host : 0.0.0.0
• Port : 10000
• User : x
• Password: x
• Database: x

After the install is done, run configCC.bat from the <<SCCInstallLocation>>/bin folder
During the DB Initialization step, you will be asked if you want to convert your
Production database tables to partitioned tables, if partitioning is supported. Specify “Y”
to convert the tables to partitioned tables. It may take some time to convert the tables to
partitioned tables.
