Problem

Attempts to execute sync task in IBM Rational DOORS for HP Quality Center Interface results in error 'Create module failed '

Symptom

The full error message is as follows:

SynchronizationJobManager Verbose: 1 : Sync Task completed with errors, SyncTask Id: 2beda55b-67c6-4967-b2ae-25d727026c99.

 DOORS reported DXL errors:-R-E- DXL: <addins/doorstdint/linkSyncUtility.inc:692> create module failed: Cannot create link module: no name specified

Cause

Rational DOORS module has linkset restrictions.

Resolving The Problem

To resolve the error follow the steps mentioned below:

  1. Click on Tools->Options in the main Database Explorer ->Settings Tab -> check there is a name present for the "Default link module"

  2. Open Rational DOORS module which is setup for sync, Module Properties ->Linksets tab ->Uncheck the option "Only allow outgoing links" as specified in the above list.
