How to restore incoming links from a copied module in Rational DOORS

Question

How do you restore incoming links from a module that is copied using standard DOORS copy module function from IBM Rational DOORS?

Cause

You would like to know on how to achieve restoring a copied module from Rational DOORS with both incoming and outgoing links.

Answer

Procedure:

  1. Navigate to the project or folder from where the module needs to be copied

  2. Right click on the appropriate module from right pane of the database

  3. Select copy

  4. Navigate to the project or folder where the module needs to be restored

  5. Right click on the right pane of the database

  6. Select Paste Special

  7. Select All Objects under copy from the Paste Special window

  8. Check copy checkbox under links

  9. Click select

  10. Put a check mark next to the "Through same link module" checkbox under link options window

    Note: Ensure all source modules from where incoming links are present in the copied module are open while applying paste special function.
