Navigating to a link results in "Invalid URL Supplied" error

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to navigate to a link (hovering) from IBM Rational DOORS Web Access results in the error "Invalid URL specified"

Symptom

The full error message is as follows:

"Invalid URL: 'version' element must be present in query part of URL"

Cause

While installing/configuring DOORS Web Access, the dcn (dbadmin) command may not have been executed correctly.

Resolving The Problem

Procedure:

  1. Navigate to the machine where DOORS Web Access (DWA) is installed

  2. Stop the broker, interoperation and the DWA server services

  3. Ensure DOORS redirector service is configured correctly

  4. Navigate to the machine where DOORS database server is installed

  5. Navigate to <DOORS database server installation directory)/<version>/bin folder

  6. Execute the dbadmin command again to configure the database server correctly so that there is no communication issues between DOORS and DOORS Web Access

  7. Restart the DOORS database service
