Error description
fsck fails to fix the JFS2 corruption involving extended attributes. If there is a JFS2 metadata corruption and FS has EAs enabled, fsck might not fully fix the corruption and hence leave the EAs in erroneous state resulting the corruption to be as it is. This will result in corrupted EA metadata to re-appear everytime the backup of the FS is used.
Local fix
N/A
Problem summary
Repeated filesystem corruption will be seen only, if there is ever a EAV1 corruption and continue use of EAV1s. Mostly fsck will complain about "cross linked" blocks or "EAV1 data format errors", but other variations of corruptions possible, including system crash.
Problem conclusion
Remove all assoicated data from the inode during cleanup of a corurpted EAV1
Temporary fix
