Starting DOORS results in "OS user authentication" error

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to log in to IBM Rational DOORS fails resulting in the error "Cannot connect to server ... OS user authentication is enable on the server".

Symptom

You can not start DOORS client.
When you attempt to login, DOORS report displays the following message:

Cannot connect to server <port>@<ip address>

OS user authentication is enable on the server.
To connect to the server, you must upgrade your client to version 9.3 or later.

Cause

You can only connect to a DOORS database configured for OS user authentication with a DOORS client version 9.3 or later.

Resolving The Problem

Upgrade your DOORS client by installing version 9.3 or higher.
