Some buttons on Zoom, Layout, Format, and Standard toolbars do not work in 64-bit version of Rational Rhapsody 8.0.3

Problem

A number of buttons on the Zoom, Layout, Format, and Standard toolbars do not work correctly in the 64-bit version of Rational Rhapsody 8.0.3. The problematic buttons are: Zoom toolbar: Zoom In, Zoom Out, Pan, Specification/Structured view Layout toolbar: Grid, Snap To Grid, Rulers, Page Breaks Format toolbar: Italic, Bold, Left, Center, Right, Bullet Standard toolbar: Format Painter

Symptom

Pressing the following buttons has no effect:


Zoom toolbar: Zoom In, Zoom Out, Pan, Specification/Structured view



Layout toolbar: Grid, Snap To Grid, Rulers, Page Breaks



Format toolbar: Italic, Bold, Left, Center, Right, Bullet



Standard toolbar: Format Painter

Resolving The Problem

The following workarounds are available:

  • Zoom In - keyboard shortcut Ctrl & '+' or Ctrl & mouse wheel up
  • Zoom Out - keyboard shortcut Ctrl & '-' or Ctrl & mouse wheel down
  • Pan - Use vertical and horizontal scrollbars
  • Specification/Structured view - If you set the property General::Graphics::DefaultBoxView to "Structured", then classes and objects dragged from the browser will be displayed in "Structured" view by default. The Specification/Structured view button can then be used to have the element displayed in "Specification" view.
  • Grid - Select Grid > Show Grid from the context menu for the diagram
  • Snap To Grid - Select Grid > Snap to Grid from the context menu for the diagram
  • Rulers - No workaround available
  • Page Breaks - No workaround available
  • Italic - Use the context menu for graphic elements to open the Format dialog, and then use the controls on the Font tab of the dialog
  • Bold - Use the context menu for graphic elements to open the Format dialog, and then use the controls on the Font tab of the dialog
  • Left, Center, Right, Bullet - No workaround available
  • Format Painter - No workaround available
