Question

Can IBM Rational DOORS display the OLE contents of .jpg and .txt files when inserted as OLEs?

Cause

Inserted .jpg and .txt contents are not displayed in Rational DOORS modules.

Answer

Rational DOORS displays .jpg and .txt files only as icons, but the contents of .jpg and .txt files are not shown.

Rational DOORS uses the same rich edit control used by Microsoft WordPad.
The .txt and .jpg formats appear as icons when inserted in Microsoft WordPad, hence Rational DOORS behaves the same; however, when you click on the icon in Rational DOORS it will activate the native application and open them.

WORKAROUND:

You may take a snapshot (using your keyboard "Print Screen" key) and paste that image into a Rational DOORS object for display.
