Question & Answer

Question

How do you split the backordered quantity in the order to a new line during scheduling in IBM Sterling Order Management?

Cause

You want to split and schedule the unavailable quantity on a new orderline.

Answer

Steps to configure:

  1. Under Distributed Order Management (DOM), Go to Document Specific-Sales Order-Fulfillment -Fulfillment Rules.

  2. Check mark the following flags:

A line can be fulfilled from a single node only

When the line is partially backordered or unscheduled, split it into two separate lines so that a different ship node can be selected for the new line

When the line is partially backordered or unscheduled, split it into two separate lines so that the sourcing logic can determine an alternate ship node for the new line.

  3. Under DOM, Go to Document Specific-Sales Order-Fulfillment-Order Modification-Order Modification Rules-Split line-Line.

  4. Mark created status to allow modification.

With the mentioned configuration in place, any quantity back ordered on the order line while scheduling will be split into a new line.
