Plug-in log unknown attribute message

Troubleshooting

Problem

You notice the plug-in log shows "Unknown attribute" message.

Symptom

Plug-in log "unknown attribute" message

Cause

When a plugin-cfg.xml is generated and propagated to the web server and reloaded, this message may be seen in the http_plugin.log if the newly generated plugin-cfg.xml contains a web server plug-in custom property (e.g. MarkBusyDown) not recognized by the current web server plug-in binary version

Resolving The Problem

Support for web server plug-in custom properties are often dependent on later fix pack versions and therefore the web server plug-in binary must be upgraded to a supported fix pack version to load the custom property

For example: the MarkBusyDown plug-in custom property is only supported starting with fixpack versions 6.1.0.45, 7.0.0.25, and 8.0.0.4

Note: Although, the "unknown attribute" message will be seen when running an earlier web server plug-in binary, the plug-in is still able to load successfully and will continue to function without taking advantage of the new property.
