Problem

Attempts to launch the IBM Rational DOORS Help section results in "Unable to locate help application" error.

Symptom

Launching Rational DOORS Help section results in the following error:

Help Section Error: Unable to locate help application

Cause

You do not have Allow permissions to the Rational DOORS install directory

Resolving The Problem

To resolve this error, the Windows System Administrator must grant you Allow permissions to the Rational DOORS install directory.

By default, on a Microsoft Windows Machine the Rational DOORS install directory will be under the following locations:

On a 32 Bit Operating System:

C:\Program Files\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.x

On a 64 Bit Operating System:

C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\DOORS\9.x
