Question
I have Module A has link to Module B. Module B has link to Module C. How can I adapt the Traceability Wizard in IBM Rational DOORS to display Module C attribute data in Module A?
Cause
The Analysis Wizard can only obtain traceability results from one module to another. In this example, Module A to Module B since, Module A is not linked to Module C.
Answer
There is a workaround to obtain traceability from Module C. You could achieve the results by following the steps below:
- In Module B do analysis wizard to show In-links from Module C with attributes
- Make the resulting Layout DXL column to Attribute DXL column by using the conversion tool (Tools > Support Tools > Convert Layout DXL to Attribute DXL)
- Then, when you do an Analysis Wizard in Module A showing Out-Links to Module B, you can select the DXL Attribute you just created on the above step
This will bring the resulting Module C and Module B to Module A.
