APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If ISPF is used to generate Image Copy JCL the following error
    messages are received:
    .
     IEC130I SYSPRINT DD STATEMENT MISSING
     +DFS301A UNABLE TO OPEN DDNAME SYSPRINT
     .
     Generated JCL:
     .
     2 //IDC    EXEC PGM=IDCAMS,
       //            COND=(4,LE),DYNAMNBR=999
     3 //SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
     4 //SYSIN    DD *
       //*=======================================================
       //*
       //*      IMAGE COPY
       //*
       //*=======================================================
     5 //IMC    EXEC PGM=DFSUDMP0,PARM='DBRC=Y',
       //            COND=(4,LE),
       //            REGION=60M
     6 //STEPLIB  DD DISP=SHR,DSN=IMS.IMSA.SDFSRESL
     7 //SMPINVA  DD  DISP=SHR,
       //        DSN=DNET089.SMPINVP1.A00001
     8 //IMC11 DD DISP=(,CATLG,KEEP),UNIT=SYSDA,
       //            SPACE=(CYL,(1,200),RLSE),
       //           DSN=DNET089.SMPINVP1.A00001.IC1
     9 //SYSIN   DD  *
    .
    Additionally, if Haldb Toolkit is setup to generate a High
    Performance Image Copy that JCL is incorrect too, it completely
    omits STEPLIB DD plus other DD statements.

Local fix

  • There is a work around using the following procedure:
    1. Locate member IHCSIMJC in your SIHCSKEL library.
    2. Edit the 2nd ")SEL" statement as follows:
       From:  )SEL  &IHCHPIC ^= &Z
       To:    )SEL  &IHCHPIC NE &Z

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All clients of IMS HALDB Toolkit V3R2. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If ISPF user interface is used to *
    * generate Image Copy JCL, the following *
    * error messages are received: *
    *                      -IEC130I SYSPRINT DD STATEMENT MISSING  *
    * -DFS310A UNABLE TO OPEN DDNAME SYSPRINT *
    * Additionally, if Haldb Toolkit is *
    * setup to generate a High Performance *
    * Image Copy, that JCL is incorrect too. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. *
    ****************************************************************
    IHCSIMJC, the file-tailoring skeleton, generates the Image Copy
    JCL with IMS standard utility or with High Performance Image
    Copy utility through the ISPF file-tailoring service.
    Since IHCSIMJC has the incorrect control statement,
    'SEL &IHCHPIC = &Z', the JCL is not generated properly.

Problem conclusion

  • IHCSIMJC has been changed to generate the Image Copy JCL
    correctly.
