Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 * * Release 1 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Messages containing message properties * * cannot be successfully offloaded and * * restored using CSQUTIL SCOPY/LOAD. * * Symptoms include: * * - SCOPY fails with error message: * * "CSQU002E Unable to get storage of size * * 104857600 bytes, return code=4" * * - LOAD fails with MQRC_HEADER_ERROR * * (MQRC 2142) * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When the SCOPY function of CSQUTIL processes messages containing message properties and/or RFH2 headers, an error in processing the properties prevents them being offloaded correctly, and causes the buffer used to read the message to be leaked. If multiple messages are offloaded, the leaked buffers cause CSQUTIL to fail, issuing CSQU002E to report a failure to get storage. Any messages offloaded prior to the storage shortage will fail to be restored to a queue using LOAD due to MQRC 2142 (MQRC_HEADER_ERROR).
Problem conclusion
CSQUIRH8 is changed to use the correct buffers when processing message properties as part of CSQUTIL SCOPY processing, avoiding the memory leak and offloading the messages so that they can be successfully restored using the LOAD function of CSQUTIL. 100Y CSQUIRH8
