Error description
abend5C6-00E70002 in CHIN module CSQXSRVR during "stop qmgr mode(force)" . From the dump we can see that the CHINIT starts the PubSub off-loader tasks for inter-qmgr module CMQXZMUP. During its processing it does the following operations : . psiReceivePSCmds psiConnect psiConnect psiGetMsg psiGetMsg psiBack . It opens the queue SYSTEM.INTER.QMGR.CONTROL and sits on an MQGET waiting for a message to arrive. PSMODE(DISABLED) is set in this environment At queue manager shutdown, the CHIN adapter tasks end and will also return rc2009 (MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN) on the MQGET : . On return from psiGetMsg in CMQXZMUP we check rc2009 and if pxgwa->ChinStatusFlags.fStopping is on (which is our case) we exit and on exit we do a backout (psiBack ) if there has been any error. Since at that time all CHINIT servers subtasks have terminated (cStartedServers=0 in AST), abend5C6-00E70002 is issued by CSQXSRVR. . cmqxzmup should not perform the psiBack after getting rc2009 on psiGetMsg. . additional symptom : ABN= 5C6-00E70026,C=R3600.710.CHIN,LOC=CSQXADPM.CSQXADPM+06F9A
Local fix
do a stop qmgr mode(quiesce) or if psmode(disabled) meaning we do not use pubsub then delete the queue SYSTEM.INTER.QMGR.CONTROL . Do not forget to recreate it once the problem is fixed
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 * * Release 1 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABN=5C6-00E70002 in CHINIT * * on a STOP QMGR MODE(FORCE). * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** During a STOP QMGR MODE(FORCE) the CHINIT abends with a ABN=5C6-00E70002 in CSQXSRVR. The source of the error is in CMQXZMUP when a reason code 2009 (MQRC_CONNECTION_BROKEN) is returned on an MQGET, but the action taken on this error issues an MQBACK which will attempt to make use of the connection. This results in a failure in CSQXSRVR because the CHINIT is no longer connected to the queue-manager.
Problem conclusion
CMQXZMUP has been changed to not use the connection when it is reported broken during termination. 100Y CMQXZMUP
