Pre-receipt process enables a shipment to be marked as received at package level.
This process is typically followed in warehouses having large receiving yard or area where shipments are offloaded before the receiving department starts the shipment work.

Sterling WMS allows recording of shipment level attributes during pre-receiving process including the trailer details and driver details.
In addition, the actual date and time of pre-receipt is recorded to track carrier performance.

Sample steps to perform pre-receiving in Sterling Application:

   
1. Create an inbound shipment S1
   
2. Click on Record Container details button on the Inbound Shipment Details screen. Popup screen appears.
   
3. In the pop-up screen, enter container details such as weight, provide container SCM and packed quantity. (This is the container to be pre-received).
   
4. Confirm shipment S1.
   
5. Login as node user in RF/mobile device -> Choose Prereceipt from the Menu
   
6. Select shipment S1, Enter/Scan the receiving location where the container is getting received. Scan the container SCM provided in Step 2.
      Container is pre-received in Sterling Application.
