Failure of Replenishment when rounding off to Case/Pallet is not set

Question & Answer

Question

Failure of Replenishment when rounding off to Case/Pallet is not set

Answer

Failure of Replenishment when rounding off to Case/Pallet is not set
Consider a scenario in which
1. Round off to Case/Pallet is not set in the Replenishment strategy
2. The radio button ' Neither Pallets nor Cases' is checked on the PLA rule
In this case, since it is configured not to break Pallets and Cases, system will try to see the demand on the shipment to be present either in Cases or Pallets only. It will not see for loose inventory
If there is some inventory present in the Cases/Pallets and if this Inventory does not match the demand quantity, replenishment fails
This is because, you have configured not to round off to Case/Pallets

For Eg: Let’s say there is demand for 10 quantities
Inventory of 8 is present in Cases/Pallets
Firstly system will look for Case/Pallet which has Inventory of 10. If it does not find any, replenishment fails
Let's say it finds Case/Pallet with Inventory of 8, in this case also replenishment fails because you have configured not to round off
In a rare situation, if there is some Inventory present in Cases/Pallets which is exactly matching the Demand quantity, the replenishment will happen to the
