How to change the Oracle JDBC Driver on Unix

Answer

For example, to change the JDBC Driver to 11.x.x.x

       
  •    
     Download the file from oracle  
       
  •    
  •    
     Stop GIS
       
  •    
  •    
     navigate to  ../SI/jdk/jre/lib/ext
       
  •    
  •    
     take a backup copy of this file -  ojdbc6.jar
       
  •    
  •    
     copy the driver downloaded from Oracle to a temporary directory (for example /updateoracledriver) 
       
  •    
  •    
     edit the dynamicclasspath.cfg.in file and comment the lines (with #) that refer to the old ojdbc drivers
       
  •    
  •    
     in a shell start /SI/bin/Install3rdparty.sh oracle 11.1.0.7 -d /updateoracledriver/ojdbc6.jar
       
  •    
  •    
     in a shell start  /SI/bin/deployer.sh
       
  •    
  •    
     in a shell start  /SI/bin/setupfiles.sh
       
  •    
  •    
     start SI
       
  •    
  •    
     Start  /si/bin/dump_info.sh > dump_info.txt and verify the version has been updated
