Error description
Customer received errors CSQX476E: CSQXRESP CHANNEL channel-name IS ACTIVE ON qmgr-name SHARED STATUS ENTRY FOUND CSQX599E: CSQXRESP CHANNEL channel-name ENDED ABNORMALLY, CONNECTION conn-id CHIN has ADOPTMCA=ALL and ADOPTCHK=ALL and rriAdoptSharedMCA is invoked to try and adopt the shared status entry. It compares the conname from the status entry with that of the sender trying to connect. However, the conname in the status entry is suffixed with a null, which causes the adoption checking to fail.
Local fix
Customer could circumvent this problem by specifying ADOPTCHK=QMNAME
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere MQ for z/OS Version 7 * * Release 1 Modification 0. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Message CSQX476E is issued when a * * channel initiator tries to adopt a * * shared channel. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** When a receiver channel is active on a queue manager and that queue manager is terminated then the channel may be adopted by another queue manager in the queue sharing group. A comparison is done (by rriAdoptSharedMCA) of the connection name in the channel with the name in the shared status entry. However, the latter is null terminated and the comparison may fail. This means that the channel is not adopted and fails with the CSQX476E message.
Problem conclusion
CSQXRCSI has been fixed so that the comparison is done only up to the null terminator, allowing the adoption to succeed. 100Y CSQXRCSI
